Big National Lottery awarded SAAFI £230000 to contribute £460000 youth and mentoring for 3 years in Brent

The youth programme will support 180 young people from disadvantaged communities of East African origin over 3 years. It will strengthen SAAFI’s relationship with all the youth services in Brent, bridging the gap between the Somali community and local stakeholders. The programme will support young people to achieve outcomes and goals set by themselves, these will include: - Personal development through mentoring and coaching - Development of practical skills needed to advance their future - Improved digital accessibility and skills - Applications made to Further Education if desired - Employment/volunteering placements - Improved emotional wellbeing and mental health - Improved confidence - Enabling young people to become independent leaders and to develop their personal skills and group management skills including learning positive practices from other communities with similar experience We expect you to monitor the impact your project is having on your community.
